Our Premier Art Viewing Rooms

The launch of Sugar Studios Art Viewing Rooms London…

June has been an exciting month here at Sugar Studios, especially with the launch of our new art viewing rooms which we announced on the 17th!

We are proud to be working with MDM: one of the UK’s leading Art Fabricators. We’re therefore able to offer you not only one of the largest viewing galleries in London, but expert project management, technical services and equipment to complete your viewing, exhibit or installation experience.

This is such an exciting opportunity for us, and we can’t wait to get started! We’ve shared some information below which covers more about what an art viewing room is, why we decided to set this up, our future goals and plans and more!

What is an art viewing room and what to expect from us?

Our viewings rooms are the perfect place for you to showcase, photograph, condition check and repair your artwork. Our unique 9m high viewing space is the largest in central London and comes with a host of additional facilities and services to cater to you bespoke needs.

Why have we decided to set this up?

In conjunction with renowned Fine Art fabricators MDM we have decided to open our versatile space to the Art World and come full circle. Having been built using recycled materials from Frieze Art Fair we thought it would only be right to extend the invitation of our already successful theatre, film and photography studios to those in the Fine Arts.

What makes us different from other viewing rooms?

Our infinity cove is the largest private installation space in Central London. With close links to the Jubilee Line and City Airport our proximity to the top London galleries makes us the perfect extension to any gallery’s art fair stand or current exhibition. Our clean exhibition space is also perfect for condition checking, photography and restoration.

What are our future goals + aspirations?

We hope to become London’s premier viewing facility – a go-to destination for large scale sculpture and fine art viewings. We also hope to be able to offer galleries, conservators and photographers the space and resources to utilise the space as a home-from-home.

Who might be interested in booking an art viewing room?

Those in art sales, art advisors and gallery/exhibition professionals, primarily interested in the technical specification of the spaces, with a little bit of the glitz and glamour thrown in!

They are looking for versatile spaces that they can use to bolster what they already have, so spaces larger than their current viewing rooms, which can be changed more frequently than a standard exhibition or art fair turnaround as these are usually fixed content for the duration of the exhibition or fair: so, a companion space. The size of the rooms also means that they can show works which they wouldn’t ordinarily be able to in their current exhibition spaces or without an outdoor annex. In addition, access to a clean space where works can be condition checked, installed prior to an exhibition or photographed is a real bonus and another potential use for the smaller or rehearsal space.
